Originally written as the opener for Christmas with The Salvation Army at Roy Thomson Hall in 2023, Hope Alive weaves together two central carols: Keith & Kristyn Getty’s “Sing We the Song of Emmanuel” and the beloved “O Come, All Ye Faithful.”

Christ’s arrival, God’s faithfulness, and the call for all people to
come and behold the newborn King shape the musical journey. Moments of bright proclamation, rhythmic vitality, and warm lyricism point toward the heart of the Christmas story.

This the Christ who was long foretold
Lo in the shadows of Bethlehem
Promise of dawn now our eyes behold
God Most High in a manger laid
