ABJ 69-PDF Version
This issue of the American Band Journal should prove popular and useful to our subscribers.
Stephen Bulla's "Christmas Celebration" was written a number of years ago but has just recently been given copyright clearance to publish. It is an exciting march with recognizable songs of the season that will be interesting and exciting to players and listeners.
Norman Bearcroft has contributed some gems to the American Band Journal through the years and his lovely setting of "A way in a Manger" is another in that line. With a similar ethos is Dorothy Gates' treatment of the timeless favorite, "Silent Night".
The fourth piece contained in this issue is a rescoring of Kenneth Downie' s "Intrada on Regent Square" which originally was published in the American Festival Series and is now available in this version for smaller groups.
The Christmas Season is a wonderful and sacred time of the year. This music will be a source of joy to help in the celebration.
God bless you.
