PDF Score and Full Band Set for Manhattan by Erik Leidzén. Part of The New York Staff Band's Heritage Series
Also available in Print
Length – 2:06
Erik Leidzén wrote many marches that continue to be used by Salvation Army bands nearly 50 years after his passing. Manhattan was first written as a sextet for the Hyde Park Sextet. This bristling quick step march is a delight to hear and even more of a thrill to play. General Evangeline Booth’s chorus, Over Me is featured in the march.
Over me, over me it is flowing,
Down beneath its waves I am going;
Over me, over me it is flowing,
Washing white as snow.
Down beneath its waves I am going;
Over me, over me it is flowing,
Washing white as snow.
Previously published in the American Band Journal 9 as #44.
